Weingarten RightsFellow part-timers, don’t forget that under Article 17 of our collective bargaining agreement, if your Dean/Supervisor summons you to a meeting, they are required to inform you of the purpose of that meeting. If it could result in disciplinary action being taken against you, you have the right to have a union representative present. This is backed up by the Supreme Court’s Weingarten Decision (see the flyer attached) of 1975. While it happens rarely, it is important to keep in mind that you have these rights just in case it happens to you.
